Eddie kissed her forehead and then moved to close the repair hatch on the game cabinet. He waved her over to the prize counter-slash-snack-bar and took a seat behind the glass counter. Below him laid prizes- anything from parachute men to a bag of assorted candy. Each with a placard that had how many tickets they were worth in big, bold letters. Eddie would have given any of them to her for free- but there wasn't anything valuable in there. Just small trinkets that filled the gamer with a sense of accomplishment.
"I feel weird because here I have to just be me. Cat tells me that's plenty- more than enough. That Eddie without all the nice suits and dangerous riddles is actually worth something." He shrugged, leaning back on the stool he was sitting on and putting his hands behind the back of his head. "I never feel like this is enough. Do you know what I'm saying?"
