Eddie still had a hard time being around Holly. He worked with ghosts and skeletons all day long, but Holly wasn't a coworker. She was a blast from his past, walking reminder of failure, beloved young fuck-up that he couldn't save. He couldn't believe she was here or that she even wanted to see him. He couldn't believe anyone wanted to see him anymore. Who would want to spend time with a miserable bastard like himself?
"Little old me?" He pressed fingertips to his chest and he stood up, wobbling to his feet. Eddie was graceful in a chaotic way, nothing like Cat's slink. His wobble was a fake one, something for show to make Holly smile. He held his arms out for a hug. If she accepted? He didn't hold back. It was a good hug.
"I think this is the longest I've been in town for months. I'm not antsy, but I do think it's making me weird."
