Re: log: jack/louis
He chuckled - the idea struck him, too, of flipping through the phone book to find the appropriate exterminator. "If I were to take every strange thing in my life as an ill omen, I would lock myself in a closet and never leave it," he said. "I was joking about the curse, really. Yes, this place is strange, but it's been good for me so far. It's given me a vocation. That's no small thing."
"I don't know," he said, honestly enough. "I know it suits me. I don't know what they were attempting to achieve by giving it to me. If they wanted this place to stay obscure, I've certainly done that. If they wanted it to stay solvent, I've managed that too. Who knows what they might have been thinking."
"You're here," he pointed out, spreading a long hand. "So we're in touch, aren't we?" He blinked, and, sheepishly, added, "I've never heard of them."
