Re: [Flower Shop: Sam & Dawn]
They lived in a one-bedroom apartment in a shitty tenement, but there was a wide enough age gap that they weren't all kids at the same time, yeah? Which was probs good. "Yeah, and moms is still alive. I had one and I wanted to fucking DIE. I can't imagine doing it 11 more times." No thank you. Sam wasn't a good moms, and she didn't want more kids, thanks. And labor had been a nightmare. So, yeah, no. Iris could populate the family with little adorable blonde babies. Dawn could have some too, huh? But it was probs too early for that. "We haven't all been together, nah. Some are in jail and some are dead, huh? So, nah, we don't get to all be together, but that's ok. Everyone still loves each other, no matter what." Sam wasn't ashamed of any of that. Maybe she shoulda been, and maybe she shoulda hidden that from Leo's GF, but it didn't occur to her to hide shit. And her smile came back bouncy-vibrant and quick. "It's ok. We'll teach you to swear."
But it was good, huh? Talking about everyone getting together. It would have to be late in the day, but maybe that would be ok. It was dark by like five o'clock these days, and that would be ok for TJ. And the baby just probs slept all the time still, so, yeah. "You can bring whatever you want, baby." And Sam totes knew that Leo had poked at Dawn because he thought Dawn walked on water, and Sam could totes see why. Dawn was gorgeous and like a glowy kind of super kind, and Sam was more pleased by this unexpected development with every passing second. "His grumpy IS cute, but he totes doesn't know, so, yeah, we'll keep it a secret."
Dawn talked about touring and Sam listened raptly. It was the kinda thing her life had never been about, but she thought moving around and being hectic sounded AMAZING. "I hate staying in one place. I'm not hella good with being still, so going from hotel to hotel sounds awesome." She gave Dawn a look that was older than Sam's years, knowing in the oblivious naivete that kinda encircled Sam on the regular. "But I think you seem like maybe a home and family kinda chick, so, yeah," she mused. As always, that moment of clarity made Sam want to pick up a paintbrush and capture Dawn on canvas, so it was a good thing she wasn't near any of her supplies, huh? She didn't want to scare Dawn off like right away or anything.
"I was a stupid idiot," she said of moving while she was knocked up. "I kinda thought my baby!daddy wouldn't want me, so I bailed. But he chased me out here, so the story has a happy ending. Her name's Joey, after my brother who died a few years ago. It's good, I think, making sure people live on, huh? IDK if Leo remembers him, but Joey was a year above us in age, over me and Leo, and he would always make sure we ate and stuff when we were really little." She wasn't devastated about it anymore. She was sad Joey was gone, yeah? But it was kinda a faded hurt. "Anyway!" She smiled again. "It's the holiday and time for all the good stuff or whatever, so no bad memories."
