Re: [Flower Shop: Sam & Dawn]
Dawn had nothing to hide about who she was, except for that pesky little fact about who she was. She hadn't even believed the whole princess thing until she'd spoken to Mary upon stumbling into town. Now it had felt strange to reach out and talk to people when she knew she didn't belong here. After all, she'd only told Leo her given name and he knew everything there was to know about her, and she was mostly certain that he didn't believe her. No one had believed her. The doctors had spent months convincing her that she shouldn't even believe herself. It was all a story, and Dawn was little more than a distant dream locked in a forgotten tower waiting for a hero to come and save her.
Maybe she was crazy.
If she was more observant, she might have been able to discern something off about Sam. Dawn was anything but observant. She wanted to believe and trust in people, so for whatever danger Sam may have been hiding underneath sunshine and crimson, Dawn only saw a wonderfully bright and beaming ball of exuberance that she couldn't help but adore. "They wouldn't be cheesy, but irises are toxic for pets, too," she hummed in thought, debating some of the vases full of different flowers arranged around the store.
Dawn saw the smile Sam gave her, brimming with secrets brewing behind cherry lips, and she gave a grin back when Sam made it clear she was asking more about Leo than the flowers. So Dawn played her own little tease of a game, and answered about the new baby arrangement instead. She picked up one of the flowers nearby and offered it to Sam, "How about Gerbera daisies? They come in every color you could want, last for at least week without having to tend to them, and don't pose a threat to making dogs sick."
But the part that she knew Sam was far more into was answered shortly after, not making Sam wait too long for the information. "If it weren't for the party, I am fairly certain that Leo would still be yelling at me about the overwatered tulips," said fondly, with that dreamy admiration lighting up her bright blue eyes. "He was rather resistant to my friendship at first. I'm sure you've noticed he can be a little... prickly." An understatement. "What did he say about me?" Because Dawn was curious. And she may not have been smart, but she knew better than to talk about making out with this woman's brother when Leo may not have said anything about them being maybe something more than friends.
