Re: [Flower Shop: Sam & Dawn]
Dawn was taken over by the sudden influx of information. Sam. This was Leo's- Something about knowing- There was a baby- Sam was a joyous explosion of color and smiles, and it was almost impossible to believe that the cranky little storm cloud upstairs and this kaleidoscope of energy were related. Almost. The smiles were far too similar.
Right, yes, Leo had said something about family being in town. Oh wait. Wait. That meant Leo had been talking about her to his family. Oh my. That was either flattering if it was recent, or a rather terrible sign if the information had come before the party. Leo hadn't exactly been a huge fan of hers, and without the party they would probably have been in the exact same place as before. Now they were in place where Dawn wasn't sure there was a title, but it did involve pillow forts. The mention of Leo brought a tint of blush to her cheeks, "Yes. Yes, I know Leo. It's wonderful to meet you, Sam." Dawn was all the poise and grace of royalty, calm in contrast to Sam's effervescence yet still just as overjoyed at the meeting.
Her smile was spun-sugar sweet, and she swooned in loving awe of maternity, "Oh, a baby!" Then she realized she sounded precisely like one of her aunts, and Dawn tried to shake it off by being professional. Well, as professional as she got, which was still full of a dreamy admiration for the flowers on some intimate personal level. "That's a Dahlia. They would be good since they are rather hardy and don't require much upkeep from a new mother. But dahlias are not good to have around animals. Does she have any pets?" Dawn wouldn't want to accidentally poison a dog or anything. The animals in this town had been through enough recently.
