Re: leo/dawn deer rescues
[She smiled at his amazement, and downplayed any role she had.] Mary's friends, really. [Dawn was nice, but she was very wary about being particularly social. Those people weren't her friends. Dawn didn't know them at all. Which really meant that she shouldn't trust them as far as she could throw them, but if Mary believed in them that was enough for Dawn. Honestly, the only reason she'd started bothering Leo was because they were neighbors and they should know one another, because that is how neighbors should be. Now it had blossomed to something far more than ever intended, and Dawn really couldn't find any reason to be upset about that.]
[Dawn sighed happily against his lips and kissed him back, soft and sweet.] Thank you for trusting me enough to share. It means a lot. [And it did. It felt like there was some bond there from them both getting certain secrets out of the way, and that was building something real. The party was a beautiful and magical opening to whatever they were, but this was who they actually were and Leo was only the second person in years that she could be herself with.] And it means a lot to her. [She motioned with her head towards the doe with another warm and sappy smile that was all for him.] You can do a lot of good with what you are capable of. Besides, who else would risk rabies bats after downing half a pan of brownies? Even with bat repellent? [A smirk.]
Let's get back to the flower shop without getting caught. [She laced her fingers with his, and stayed close to his side as she led them back out of the barn (after telling the animals to have a good night) and down the path towards town.]
