Re: leo/dawn deer rescues
[Leo was in the middle of considering sunglasses when all of a sudden she started to sing. He had spent his life as a rich kid invited to anything from operas to Broadway hits and only sometimes was he truly moved by it. But, her singing was something else. Something that made him want to believe that she was a Disney princess and that there was a magical world just beyond a looking glass or inside a book. Yes, he had heard her sing before. Not like this, nothing made him feel like this.
He was almost glad the deer spoke up because Leo felt like he was going to start tearing up. He rushed to the bushes, putting on gloves that were in his pocket so he could discover what her leg was caught on.] Hi, I'm here to help. Okay? [He didn't think the doe could understand him, but animals typically liked calm, low voices. He reached to pull at roots her leg was caught under, gently edging the lodged hoof until it was free.
Leo glanced up to Dawn.] I brought some water. [He pulled a small bottle out of his jacket and handed it to Dawn. It was more likely the deer was going to drink from her hand than his.]
