Caleb and Con: B&B Interview
Who: Con and Caleb
What: Interview
Where: B&B
When: Current
Warnings/Rating: Probably not.
Most of the training that occurred at the B&B was on the job training. When he'd taken the position shortly after arriving in town, it'd been everyone else that told him what he was supposed to do. When Connie came back, it was doing what she and Atticus said to do until he was less like a helpless puppy and more like an eager-to-please retriever.
He was okay with that.
Now, without Connie, it wasn't nearly as fear inducing as he thought it might be. The phones still ring, rooms still had to be assigned, ghostly visits from the night before explained, dentures and eyeglasses to be found. It had a rhythm, not unlike a farm, where things just fit together, even if they appeared to be a million balls in the air and life was about to turn into one of those ball pits. It didn't, they managed, and life kept on. And now he had an interview to conduct.
Clad in a pair of jeans that fit without the ass drooping or the crotch hugging, and a neat, plaid shirt that he had done up to the top button, Caleb was busy on the phone - cordless edged up to his ear by his shoulder - as the door swung open. If he was lucky, it'd be Con. If not - "Yes, Mrs. Samuels, we have you booked for the 31st. One room. We'll see you then," he said pleasantly. She thanked him loudly and he barely managed to hide a wince as he wished her goodbye and hung up.
