Re: log: leo/dawn go on a walk
"Why would anyone want you dead? I mean, besides killing tulips and turning on the water when your neighbor is trying to shower." He tried for a joke once he saw her smile. That good place they had been just a minute ago before the animals showed up was inviting him back. He wanted to go there again, even if he realized now the road wasn't going to be easy.
"I know that." Of course she wouldn't lie to him. "But, I've spent my whole life looking for what's wrong. Whenever something seems too good to be true, it always is. Then, you show up and you're you." Which explained why he instantly gave her a hard time when they first met. He saw the kindness in her and wanted to keep burning bridges until she proved to him that he was right. But, now he was pretty sure there wasn't some evil woman buried in there.
She reached to touch his cheek and he leaned into her fingers, fighting a smile at her warmth and losing. Leo stepped closer, opening himself up to her like he decided if she wanted to crush him now, Dawn could go ahead and do it.
"Aurora. Like the princess?" Leo closed his eyes as his mind wandered. The movie was about a young princess who had to hide in the woods with three fairies from a woman who wanted her dead. She could sing and play with the animals and she was kind to a fault, even if she didn't have much knowledge of the outs- oh holy shit.
He opened his eyes, surprised at the conclusion he came. "No, hold on, wait. How is that possible?"
