Re: log: leo/dawn go on a walk
Dawn looked down at the little squirrel, and reached down to give him a small reassuring pet to the top of the head. "From something they could not stop no matter how hard they tried," she explained, just as ethereally cryptic as before. When she stood back up to face Leo, she gave him an apologetic smile and tried to be more specific. "Someone very powerful wanted me dead. She almost succeeded." Ever the victim. Ever the damsel that needed her prince to rescue her.
He ran off of his spiel about what was bothering him, and her gaze softened upon him once more. Leo had every reason to doubt her, and it only made that much more sense why he would keep the world at arm's length. "I've never lied to you, Leo," she stepped forward, and if he'd let her, she'd reach up to run her fingers along his cheek, "And I do not want you to look like an idiot. I like you. Everything you've shared with me. I'm sorry to have given you reason to doubt."
He thought he wanted to get to know her. She knew he believed what he said, and so it was time to be honest. "My name, the one my parents gave to me, is Aurora." She stressed the name as though that was supposed to explain everything. Given what he knew of her, he could put the pieces together, but she wouldn't be surprised if he didn't right off the bat. It was a little difficult to believe in a fairy tale even when it was standing there in front of you.
Of course, that was also coming from a girl that had been diagnosed with complete retrograde amnesia and dissociative fugue after coming out of a coma. There were lots of people that didn't believe her story. If he went by her medical history, Leo probably shouldn't either.
