Re: log: leo/dawn go on a walk
There were still quite a few animals gathered around in Dawn and Leo's periphery, and whatever empathy she shared with the critters pulled them a little closer in concern since Dawn was fairly certain the entire world was collapsing. Over an acorn. Perhaps this was how it was supposed to go, considering how she'd been warned to not go near strangers. They would just wind up hurting her so she could go running back to the arms of her supposed betrothed. ...Not that there was anything for Dawn to go back to. She was positive that she was still back in that tower most days, and here she was awake. Maybe she should talk to Mary about that.
Leo could probably make her cry easily, but in the face of his questions she still held herself tall. "They were keeping me safe," she said of the why, since that was the easiest way to answer the question. He was not pleased, and he stared at her like he could see right through her and the answers that she never gave much detail to.
Her smile faded out completely, and big blue eyes widened like he had physically slapped her. "I didn't," Dawn was suddenly far more upset that he'd think she'd manipulate him, especially considering he was the one that had led the way down this particular path. "If-" Mary explained it and she said Patrick took it well, right? Dawn sighed heavily and looked down at the ground in thought. When she raised her head to turn her gaze back up to Leo, there was a determination behind sugar sweet eyes, decision made. "You'll leave. You won't believe me, and you will leave." That didn't mean the answer wasn't coming. She simply was forewarning him of the inevitable in that ever-present perfect poise she embodied.
