Re: log: leo/dawn go on a walk
The animals chitter-chattered and chirped happily as they walked, a menagerie of sounds that belonged on a spring morning instead of the chilly bite that warned of impending winter. Of course, Dawn wasn't paying any sort of attention to them at present since she was almost positive that she broke Leo with the cute comment. He looked like he'd rather she'd said anything else in the world besides compliment him. Maybe she shouldn't have? It didn't feel like a mistake. He could look horrified all he wanted. She had meant what she said, and the sugar sweet smile she gave his awkward laugh only cemented her opinion.
He may not have let her glaze over it, but a girl could dream, couldn't she? Dawn shook her head, long golden curls bouncing with each movement, "No. It was just me and my aunts. We lived way out in the woods. The nearest town was very, very far away." Going into town was unheard of. First, it was hours and hours of travel on foot. And second, it was full of strangers who Dawn was not allowed to talk to. "Did you ever wind up with one of those gardens that was out of control because they were upset with your filming?" Her question wasn't precisely distraction, but it was kind of a hope that her past would be more boring than him telling his stories.
A thoughtful hum slipped out of her and she debated the options put forth, even when his words when he stopped looking at her made her heart jump into beating hummingbird fast. "I think you've been in love before," and she said it with that dreamy certainty that only a hopeless romantic could possess. Besides, if he was lying about the last one, she really didn't want to know. Dawn stopped walking and tugged at his hand so he would look at her again and she didn't wait for an answer before she rattled off her choices for the game, "I lived at the B&B for ten years. I haven't stopped thinking about you since our nap. And... I really want you to kiss me again." She threw him a slowball, too.
