Re: log: leo/dawn go on a walk
Leo also thought he was supposed to be attracted to strong, independent women. Or at least, society's notion on what that looked like. But, their own stormy nature tended to cause friction with his. Plus, he just didn't like them as much. He was drawn to the light, a sad little moth who didn't know any better.
"She was a black cat we named Loretta. After Loretta Lynn? The professor had a thing for country music, even though he was more British than tea and biscuits." Leo liked country music, too. The old stuff. He had a box of vinyl Loretta Lynn in his apartment under his bed that only occasionally got pulled out when he was in the mood for feeling comically bad about things. "Did you ever have any pets?" He weirdly couldn't imagine it.
Leo shook his head and threw his hands up like I don't know about the spoiler girl. "She was probably trying to impress me because she read a book." He rolled his eyes with that sarcastic smile to counter her earnest one.
She hooked her arm into his and he warmed, forgetting about the coffee shop or the people in it. They stepped outside and he pointed them towards the woods. Mainstreet was bustling at this hour and he had just enough of people for the night. Besides Dawn, obviously. "He's a fictional detective, but instead of relying on crime scene investigations, he works on getting people to open up to him. I've always been more of a crime scene clues kind of person, but it's good to read other methods. To be a good detective, you need to know all the methods, even fictional ones."
