Re: quicklog: leo's apartment leo/dawn
Just because you aren't able to have it again doesn't mean you should resent having felt that way. They were good times. [Dawn didn't entirely understand if only because she was absolutely that positive. It was much easier to talk about him instead of her, and she had to think about the answer to his question.] I wouldn't say the flower shop is my destiny, but I like working there right now. It's nice to bring some color into people's lives.
[She expected something snarky. Something about sub-par meatloaf. Instead Dawn beamed bright and she nodded happily at the offer.] I can do that. [She was a hopeless romantic, and she knew he wasn't all rough and harsh underneath that facade. The invitation was going to be taken and held tight so she didn't give herself any chance to say something to make him take it back.
Does the weird help with that? What's the weirdest thing you've gone through? [She grinned up at him as she explained coming to Repose.] I lived in the Capital for a while before joining the troupe. We traveled around the country for a couple of years, and I eventually wanted to stop living in hotels. I wanted a place where there was a community. Where everyone knew everyone else. [She shrugged with an elegant roll of shoulders, figuring that he would think that was rather boring and cliche.
But when he mentioned her singing her jaw dropped in genuine shock.] You can hear me singing? Does it wake you up? [The stroke comment had her giggling in spite of her uncertainty with the singing.] His name is Roland. [The butterfly. Right then her phone buzzed in her pocket and she pulled it out to check the message.] Oh good. Mary got home safe. [She replied quickly on the phone as she grinned up at Leo.] She wanted me to drunk dial you one night. You should be thankful I fed her enough margaritas to have her forget about that.
