Re: quicklog: leo's apartment leo/dawn
[Dawn shook her head in polite dissent.] You are. You make it through every day even though it hurts. Don't ever say you're not strong. [The lashing out made much more sense now, at least. She'd try not to take it quite so personally in the future. She laughed at the story about his father and thought that was a much better way to remember someone passed, but she'd never been through that loss. It was also absolutely charming thinking about Leo playing the piano.] He sounds delightful. Was it only Egyptian artifacts, or artifacts of all kinds?
[Leo said he didn't hate her and that weight was lifted from her shoulders, and she felt the need to admit a secret.] I'm not always positive. You just haven't caught me on a bad day. [And then she chuckled light under her breath about giving him the time of day.] You don't make it particularly easy, but under that you had a lot of interesting things to say. I didn't want us to be strangers. [Her smile turned more playful as she gently reminded Leo with a tease:] And I still have carte blanche to ask you whatever questions I want about your love life. [For a hopeless romantic like Dawn, that was the ultimate treat. Paired with the smile he was giving to her, it was all enough to have her lean in towards him rather innocently and she reached out with a fond touch to brush his dark hair away from his eyes.] You have someone like me now. I'll play Candy Land with you whenever you want. [... That wasn't a euphemism.]
Now eat before it gets cold. [Dawn beamed at him once more and then turned back to her waffle to pick the corner off and pop it into her mouth. That was a much safer course of action instead of where it could go wheeling into a place that she and Leo didn't need to be.] How old were you there? [She asked of the picture on the wall.]
