Re: quicklog: leo's apartment leo/dawn
[Leo hasn't been anyone's center of anything since he was a child. After the professor died, he sulked in the shadows where he thought he actually belonged. She called him strong and he looked down at the plate of food.] I'm not strong at all. I'm still not over losing him to something so stupid. I'm weak and I lash out at people who deserve better. [He glanced up at her as if to say, people like her. But, she asked for a nice story and he couldn't remember the last time he reminisced.] Dad had a thing for collecting artifacts. One Halloween he waited for me to come home from piano classes and busted out of an old Egyptian tomb covered in toilet paper. I laughed so hard I thought I was going to die.
[He grinned, but his face fell when he realised he had actually hurt her feelings. He scooted closer, leaning his head on the couch as he looked up at her.] I don't hate you, I just can't understand how you can stay positive. I'm envious of it and I don't know why you'd give me the time of day, honestly. [He smiled up at her in a way that looked like the kid smiling in the photograph across the room.] I was like those kids. After the accident I didn't have a dad and I couldn't walk. If I had someone like you playing Candy Land with me maybe I wouldn't be such a bitter asshole.
