Re: In person: Misha B/Damian W
[That tutting, it was real simple and real nothing, but Misha almost sobbed when he heard it. He was that damn grateful to hear the sound from Damian, to see the amusement in the boy, even if it was real brief. And that amusement, it came with a smile that was tiny, and Misha reckoned that was some gleam of sanity. That was simplifying it a whole lot, but Misha needed something to cling to, and that crescent slice of lips and white teeth, that was his only tether just at the moment.] Hush. Yes, I'll protect you. You doubt me some? [His tone was almost teasing, but it was real brief, and Damian frowned and Misha could tell Damian was gone again. It was heartrending, and Misha was heartsore, and it was like sun hiding behind clouds. Misha's heart thumped low in his belly, and he blinked back damp.
He was glad then when the car came. Glad to get out of here, and glad to get someplace he considered safe some. He kept his hand in Damian's, and he tugged once the car pulled up with lights shining bright in the dark.
Misha, he opened the back door, and he tugged and led Damian there.] Go on. I'll follow after you. [To the driver, he said real simple, in case there was some misunderstanding:] We're headed to the carnival, just down there off Central. [And, if Damian didn't fuss any, Misha followed him into the backseat and closed the door, all while still holding tight to Damian's hand.]
