Re: Aedan's home: Aedan/Marta
[The call came from inside, and it had to be an invitation, right? People didn't usually call out that their doors were unlocked unless they wanted someone to come inside. It took maybe too long for her to decide that it was an invitation, because by the time her fingers were just resting on the doorknob, it was pulled out from under them, the door opening on its own. Or, more accurately, opened by the person on the other side. Her eyes maybe widened just a hint with surprise, not expecting the man that stood there.
Or his tone. The pet name. The possible joke that came with that curl of smile. The... questions of comfort and the offer to start a fire (or at least to try). The vampires she'd met through work would never ask such a thing. She didn't get the impression that they would even if she encountered them somewhere outside of the hotel. It took another few seconds for everything about him to slot into place for her, and then she was giving him another smile, this one at least a little less pained than the last, though no larger.] I don't get out much during the day. [She wasn't very loud lately - not as much shouting at people, and even her speaking voice was quieter than it had once been. It held the rasp of someone who smoked often enough, but there wasn't much of the scent of it on her - like it'd been a while since her last cigarette.
He invited her inside - for real this time - and she nodded as she slipped by him. She didn't give off much extra warmth, even when she passed near, her hands once again shoved into the pockets of her sweatshirt. When she moved, it was obvious that she hadn't brought a bag with her, nothing other than what she wore and the phone she carried.] The temperature's fine. You don't have to... [She shrugged a little, a smaller version of gesturing around at the house.] ...do anything.
[And then, before he could ask any more about fires or bring up guest rooms again, she turned toward him with an inhale before speaking. Switching her focus (and hopefully his) onto business.] So, if you don't go telling anyone about this, I don't have to charge you what my boss charges people in the city, okay? And you said you just wanted to eat and not anything else, but I'm not one of the higher girls that usually does just the feeds. So taking out his cut and the sex and stuff... [Providing no definition of what "and stuff" might be. She finally looked right at him, like challenging him to argue the price.] Gimme twenty bucks and we can call it even, yeah? [Her gaze held for a few seconds before she blinked and took another breath.] Or if you do want one of the better girls that just do feedings, or if you want a guy or something, I can give you the address to Masquerade.
