Re: Room 12: Janus A/Steve M
[Janus' eyes narrowed as he listened, trying to discern what all of this meant and if he was jumping to the wrong conclusions again. There was a lot about things being great and more about talking, and for a little while (you could see him considering it, eyelids low and gaze intent) he thought Steve might be talking about something more fraternal, or even platonic, than Janus had been thinking. His eyes flickered, flashing down to Steve's linked hands and then again to his face, a fast, calculating expression present as he thought it through. His face then eased into tentative conclusions and when he spoke it was with more reflective caution than before, and through a natural smile.] Like? Yes. [He nodded.] I'm not really sure what you're asking, but I kind of get the drift. [Quickly.] Please don't go into more detail. [He laughed a little breathlessly.] Once I'm back in one piece, I feel like this is a conversation I'd like to have. Fully mobile. Also to see the look on Atticus's face. [Yet Janus looked a little more worried at that last one than he did anticipatory, as if Atticus was some wildly unpredictable creature and not a curmudgeonly scholar who didn't keep his collar clean. Janus wasn't entirely sure how such an encounter might go. Perhaps it would just be Steve and Atticus breathing hard at each other and Janus just on the sideline. The thought made him a little dizzy.] Nobody's going to want that conversation with me in a heap talking about what-ifs and maybes.
