Re: second city: eddie/steph
[A sigh.] I'm pretty sure I understand that a lot. [She bit her lip.] I feel like I've been wasting my time here. Working at an art store? How is that helping people, y'know? What the fuck am I doing? [She balked for a second, as if she just realized what she'd been doing with her life. What the fuck was she doing? Well. That was for another day. Steph shook her head to jiggle out all of those thoughts and turned her attentions back on Eddie. He was happy. He looked happier than she'd seen him in ages. And while she wasn't sure how she'd feel about this place in the long run (though, frankly, she had an inkling that she'd enjoy it here), she knew he was happy. And she wasn't tied down to this place. If she wanted to see her family, she could see her family. If she wanted to pursue something outside, she could do that and still come back here to him and to people that would appreciate the two of them.]
You always did move fast. [A laugh. Give him a couple of days, and Eddie could have the world at his fingers. Then she blinked a couple of times.] You got your powers back? [She was a little shocked. Not bowled over, of course, but almost a little worried. A half-smile.] And you're okay?
[But then she laughed again, and that worry slipped away for a moment.] We'll have a whole souvenir store at the entrance. Maybe we can ask Mr. Noodle Man to display something, too.
