Re: second city: eddie/steph
[After years together (and years apart, but still), Stephanie knew the enormous walls Eddie could build like the back of her hand. Hell, she built some great walls of her own that he had to navigate. And after this time apart, she learned not to take it to heart when he didn't believe her 100%. She'd become easier, or at least tried to be, and part of that was a fear of losing him once again. The last thing she wanted was to push him away because she was nasty or not understanding enough. Sure, sometimes she thought they might both need the fight in their bones, but she still treaded lightly at times. But now? Now it was easy to be understanding and loving. God, she was glad nothing bad happened to him, and she knew how hard as fuck the last month had been (and, even before then with Bruce).
Her fingers wrapped with his as he took her hand, and she took in the dim market with wide, blue eyes. Her brows furrowed at the man behind the stand, but she smiled politely regardless, waving at him with her free hand before following Eddie through the hall. She stayed close, not quite adept at adjusting to the dark as she had been at a younger age, right up until the hall lead to a town below.
Okay, this was kid of like if Wonder City had a baby with Crime Alley and fell back into the mid-20th Century.] Holy shit. [It slipped out before she realized it. And then she laughed.] Sounds a little bit like home. Sadistic assholes only get to do so much before shit hits the fan. [Stephanie breathed in, and she stepped forward to look around.] This place-- how did you find it? It's ...well, it's something. [And then she turned over her shoulder to look at him. She wasn't sure if she wanted to say insane or awesome or cool or overwhelming or all of the above.] Who lives here? What happened? Insert my million other questions you know I'll be a pain in the ass about.
