Connie wasn't surprised that the dark side was gone the second they showed up. Why would he want to go toe-to-toe with something that could actually challenge him? She understood that feeling- being challenged about who you were and how you saw the world sucked. And, here was Adrian. Shaking like a puppy in the rain and reciting foggy memories while the air was getting so thick Connie felt like coughing.
"We can't do anything for the people you hurt." Connie said, putting her hands in her pockets. They could spend all night trying to track those people down, but what would come of it? Those strangers didn't mean as much to her as Adrian's safety. And, she thought his own safety and well-being was getting more questionable by the second. The heavy air seemed to agree. "We need to just head home, take a few benadryls and sleep it off."
