Re: Carriage House: Raven / Newt
[Oh, he had very many questions. But, Newt knew what he wanted wasn't paramount, and certainly not over the rights of any others. He respected this woman, the bird she became, and too, he knew he could offer help. Perhaps it wouldn't be what she needed, but there was a possibility it could be, and Newt Penhaligon believed in helping when and where he could.—It helped that Raven seemed a kind soul. She didn't appear to take offense at the eccentricities and oddities of the man's behavior, and that, in and of itself, was a relief. Newt could feel the warmth of her gaze on him, along with the gift of her trust in the lift of her arm, and he only wished to deserve that, to honor what she gave him.
Tenderly, he held one hand underneath her arm. The other, long-fingered and deft, felt quite lightly along the splint, to see what had been done.] This must really have hurt. I'm sorry for that, [he said without looking up, mumbled, of course, around his wand. If he was able, and she allowed it, gently, Newt turned her arm. He looked for bruises or other signs of trauma outside of the breaks wrapped tightly in splint. It seemed to be that the injury spanned radius and ulna. Ravens, and many other birds, had patagial tendons, stretching from the proximal end of the humerus to the wrist, forming a sort of triangle with the humerus, radius and ulna, when the wing is opened. It was that, along with the pneumatized bones, that were going to make this process tricky. What might heal a human, might not be what the bird needed, assuming such injuries translated the way they did in Newt's head, which certainly didn't have to be the case.
After a moment's looking, the man's amber yellow gaze slipped, shifted, and edged neared Raven's.] Well, [he began quietly, allowing her to bring her arm back to her chest, if it was more comfortable.] If it's all right, I've a few potions and herbs in my case that I'd like to fetch, but this shouldn't be too difficult, I don't think, if it is a relatively clean break. There're spells for that, that heal instantaneously. I do have a topical anesthetic, if it'd help and you'd prefer it. [Newt gestured to the case he'd set aside.] It'll be more comfortable, but it's up to you.
