Re: quicklog: eddie/steph -- arcade rooftop
I never thought being normal would stick for us, but it was nice to try for a little bit. [Stephanie watched him as he spoke. His humor about the whole situation irked her a little, and her lips pressed into a small line for a fraction of a second before relaxing. Because he's right, isn't he? That they're fragile, and there's always that one thing. Straw. Camel. She sighed, and her heel hit right underneath the lip of the roof they sat on as she swung her legs back and forth.] They are. You're right. [She reached to squeeze his leg.] I don't think there's anything wrong inside of you or that you'd push me off the roof.
[She groaned, and she wiped her hand down her face.] God me fucking too. [She paused for a second.] We run. We all run, it's in our blood, but that? That's just too goddamn much. [Steph knew that she'd run away before a lot. Hell, even Tim ran away when things weren't going his way. But Helena did it every time something went wrong, and it wasn't fair to them. The heel of her hand pressed into her eye.] Damian is trying to keep the family together, but he doesn't know how. Fucking Bruce didn't know how. I? Don't know how. And it's not fair to zero in on things and take this out on you.
[But as he continued to speak, she shook her head.] You know it was real. I know it was real. Right?
