Damian listened to the explanation of a favorite cup of coffee with his arms still crossed and his gaze steely on Casey. He did not blink. He did not think this story was actually about the coffee at all, but rather whatever emotions this man was feeling, which made his mention of it disingenuous. He looked away, out the nearest window, and stared at the trees long enough for their bright arms to be burned before his sight like ghosts. Eventually, his attention made its way back to Casey. "That is not about the coffee at all," was what he said. After a moment of fidgeting in his booth, he asked: "What is the point of this?"
