Re: quicklog: adrian/newt - the lake
[When Adrian settled his hand between them, atop the table, even Newt Penhaligon understood the choice given to him. Pleased, he laced his fingers through the other man's. He lifted their hands, paired as they were, to his lips, and he kissed Adrian's knuckles thoughtlessly. He then brought the man's hand to his thigh and held it there, against the rough wool of his trousers. His fingers had a tendency to twitch spasmodically of their own accord. It was nothing extremely jarring, and Adrian would've been used to it by now.
Newt looked at his friend's thigh, then his shoulder as he listened. A spark of guilt coughed and caught inside of him. He wasn't a well-versed liar, and he didn't often lie. His discomfort was etched between freckles as he tried to keep his tongue until Adrian was finished speaking.] Well, I wanted to talk with you, [he answered. Newt canted his head, his ear to his shoulder, as his shifting gaze considered various parts of the man beside him.]
You've not been sleepwaling. [Amber eyes flitted upward, to meet Adrian's, then away.] It's... er... more complicated than that. [He wet his bottom lip with his tongue as he sought out the words for this. He'd not given this enough thought, he realized.] You seem to be a man of two consciousnesses. Or... a body with two men, as it were. [Another glance up, to judge how this was being taken.] I wasn't at all certain until recently, but it's true. You're finding yourself out here, disoriented, because you didn't walk out here. Erm, he did.
