Re: quicklog: adrian/newt - the lake
[Adrian felt a little better once Newt was sitting beside him. The lake was pretty, but melancholy - not being quite sure how he'd come to be sitting there wiped away much of its charm. The air was still warm, just starting to cool into evening. His fingers were wrapped around each other in his lap, clasped tightly.
Newt's hand dropped away from him, and Adrian watched it happen out of the corner of his eye. What did that mean, exactly?
He slid a hand out from under the table, laying it flat, palm up, on the wood. Newt could take it or drum his scrabbling fingertips on it, or ignore it entirely. Adrian glanced up at him, brow furrowed. It would at least give him something to go on. Where did they stand, now?
He nodded.] Yes. [Anxiety churned, thick and deep.] I've been so much more tired lately, and it seems to happen more often when I don't sleep well. I'm not sure which is the cause of the other. [He sighed.] I think medication might be in order. I haven't wanted to, but I must start sleeping again. [He looked across at Newt.] What about you? Why aren't you in bed?
