[memory] What: Memory Will characters be viewing the memory or experiencing it?: Experiencing Warning, this memory contains: Dark thoughts, strange allusions.
He whispers to you. "Shh. Don't fight. Just give in. It'll be done soon. I promise."
He whispers and the urge to fight disappears because you trust him. And if he says it's going to be done soon, then you believe him in that.
It's a little scary though, you won't deny that. Kinda like a light shutting off, awareness flickering out, and it's a quiet little place that you retreat to. If you try really hard, you can see him, see what's going on beyond the fog, but it's a bit like watching a movie through a window. You can make out the action, but you can't hear what's going on, can't piece together the plot enough to follow anything that the characters are doing. If you think too hard on it, on what's actually going on, you start to panic. Your heart starts to pound, your lungs pull in oxygen a bit quicker and shallower, and it isn't until he speaks that you can calm again.
The words aren't whispers this time. Sharp, pointed, they hurt you in that quiet place you've hidden in, and awareness flickers again, the fog growing thicker, and you pull back, ashamed and contrite in the fit that you've had.
You're better than that. He's taught you to be better than that, at least.
Those are the thoughts that you focus on until the light is turned back on.
When it finally happens, you don't recognize where you are. It's dark outside, the air cold, and your shirt is sleeveless and doing nothing against the cold. Your teeth chatter and your fingers throb, and you wonder how long you've been laying out here in the grass and dead leaves. His words come as a quiet reassurance in the back of your thoughts. Everything is fine. Everything went according to plan. Don't worry.
Don't worry.
But you worry, and you try to keep it from him even as you make your way towards the lights in the distance and the promise of town and warmth.
