Re: [Carriage House: Raven & Atticus]
[The sniping from Atticus amused her, and when told not not to bitch at him, she trilled a bit. It didn't sound anything like a human laugh, but the emotion behind it translated fairly well. It was an emotion that didn't last very long, though.
She knew that the other man's hands were careful and did nothing to cause any extra hurt to her, even as she slid back out of the memory again, curled in on herself as best she could. He'd been right about the sock, holding her secure and steady as she trembled with reaction to everything. She still couldn't stop the helpless sounds she made (sounding so much like new-hatched chicks that she would've been embarrassed if she'd had the capacity to think about it in the moment).
Warm and safe. That was all she really wanted for the moment. She didn't know when she would shift back again, or what she would feel like when she did. The wing would either feel better as an arm or worse, and there was no way to truly know until it happened. And until then, she would just have to accept the kindness where she found it.
It was a while before she could stop making those little sounds of distress, but she finally did, going still and quiet in her blanket nest, eyes closed but still somewhat alert to what was going on around her. She could let the two men talk if they wanted - she was going to take the opportunity to rest where she could find it. Rest without worry of something coming to harm her in her sleep. It was a very powerful pull to rest while she could.]
