[He looked up. It was the normal thing one did when they opened a door, to look for someone at eye level. Was no one there. But he wasn't stupid, even in his exhaustion. Was sapped from herding all the haunts, and was spent from days worrying about Janus. Was tense and taut muscles from the scene in the basement, but wasn't stupid.
Looked down.
Groaned.
Recognized her, because he wasn't stupid. Crouched. Looked at her, but didn't touch her yet. Looked, but didn't know much about birds. If his wolf-self did know about birds, Atticus wouldn't be aware of it. Didn't talk to that guy. But, the academic in him told him that there was no way some part of him could know things he didn't. Was a painfully mundane view of things. Chuckled to himself, then decided the exhaustion was making him crazy.
Put his hand down, to see if she would hop into it.]
