Re: Woods: Patrick/Mary
[Normally, her first reaction to being grabbed was to break something. Joints could pop in seconds with the right applied pressure and there was something satisfying in it. So much of her life felt powerless, but breaking some asshole's bones felt good.
It didn't feel that way with Patrick. She was a little bit more like the Disney princess who shared her name. He grabbed her and she stepped back towards him, light eyes wide open and looking at him.] I can help. I want to. [The words came out of her mouth before she could even put together what she meant by that.] When I first found out about what I am, I got it all at once and I wish I could have taken my time. Had the chance to retrace some steps.
[Something in the air made her wiggle her noise. Magic. Something light, though not exactly like anything she experienced before. Mary held her breath and gently reached to brush his hair away, the tip of her finger touching his ear. She pulled her hand away, holding it to her chest with her other hand.] Remember when we thought those two girls were kidnapped or died in the forest? We came up with all sorts of stupid ideas like a serial killer or bears or they drowned. [She smiled.] But, they were okay. They were in jail because they decided to take a joy-ride. [She opened up her hand that was pressed against her chest, palm to her heart.] We're a bad duo, we work each other up.
