Re: Woods: Patrick/Mary
You should consider growing into a new role. [She nearly did smack him, too. That grin was so smackable.] Imagine for a second that you are completely lying to me. That you might be from this town, but you have done other things with your life before meeting me. And then someone hired you to hurt me. It happens. [But, she was obviously way less convinced it could happen with Patrick as the master spy. If anyone was going to fool her, it was going to be him.
Mary shook her head, expression a little horrified that she had somehow convinced him that she didn't like him. The tactical part of her gave a gentle reminder that him believing it was so was probably a good thing, but she couldn't live with it.] I was into it! I like you- I liked you. It was a thing, you idiot. And, if the fires hadn't started? Maybe- [She could feel her heart jump and so she shook her head and refused to continue.] It is what it is.
[When he warned her about the woods, she laughed. Head back, loud and rude. She nudged him away from the shed and brought out the keys to open it, digging past the fun scout supplies. Eventually, she reappeared with a bow and arrow. Cheap, falling apart, wooden. She pointed to a sign that was far in the distance, a green dot on the horizon. Then, she picked up an arrow, steadied it against the bow, pulled the string back and snap it whizzed through the air, smacking the green sign so hard it flew off the frail wooden post it was on.]
Don't worry. I'll protect you. [She smirked and tossed the bow and arrow back into the shed.]
