I liked Istanbul. You walk through the streets at night, and it's not even dark, there's too much ambient light in the center. You eat something ridiculously good at a jumble of tables outside the open doors of a restaurant that doesn't have a write-up anywhere, with feral cats circling in the background, waiting for tourists. The air's thick and choked with latent heat from the day and with the Arabic from the shops, the music cut through by the Yatsı, at about ten. Where's your favorite place?
