Re: [eddie/steph/cat steal a heart]
The landing? Was unexpected. But the arcade was familiar, and Cat sat up and brushed herself off. Falling? Was old hat to the kitten, and she looked down at her regular clothes and sighed. She really needed to get herself a new suit. Something shiny and dangerous. Something that gleamed under streetlights and in headlights. She missed it, and the White House? Had made her realize it.
Well, they'd survived, and she held out the cheap cloth and cardboard to the Riddled Man when he arrived.
She glanced over at Stephanie, and she smiled a lush smile that belonged to two decades earlier. "Well, that was fun." Her cheeks were flushed, and she had the twinkle of trouble in green eyes. No old cat this, and she glanced over her shoulder at the night beyond. "I hope you two lovebirds don't mind if I go play a little." After all, the night was young, and she turned with swish and sway.
At the door, she stopped, as if she'd remembered there had been a purpose, and, oops, her youth was showing. "He won't hurt them again, will he?" The teacher, and she knew the answer was no. She knew Eddie would make sure of it, and Cat wasn't precisely in a make sure of it place. But, Eddie, Eddie would. Trust was in the kitten's lush smile as she exited Stage Left to let the lovers celebrate the adrenaline of a good fight well fought.
