Re: The Cat: Patrick G/MJ W
My hero, [obliged MJ in her best screen starlet voice and another bat of lashes. She smiled. She hadn't ever really wanted to be the hero. It was so not feminist (or maybe it was, because it was her choice?), but she always wanted to be the beautiful girl rescued from evil clutches just in the nick of time. She didn't want to be like, the useless damsel in distress, but she did want to be the leading lady, and they didn't normally get to be the heroes anyway. She laughed.] Again? Do you give a lot of girls the turtleneck advice, scout?
[Honestly, she liked that Patrick talked too. She'd honestly had enough of the brooding types. Even Harry didn't brood as much anymore, and it was a relief.] Oh, please. We can enjoy a view without needing to jump in too. Matt's super cute, but, most of us like men that actually say words sometimes, in spite of what you see on TV. It's good news for you, killer. [She smiled with pink-lipped intent, teasing him with implication. But, she laughed again, openly, when he acknowledged her great abilities.] Countless, [she confessed with conspiratorial, self-satisfied smile. MJ, destroyer of men. She could live with that.—But, right, then there was Marta.] She does. It's sad. I mean, I know she struggles or whatever. She pinned all her stars to Flash's ass though. She's obviously not the reason he left, if there even is one. But, idk, putting everyone on one person is always going to make it hard for them. He felt guilty for like, talking to other people. Idk. [She was being too negative for this kid, probably, but MJ hadn't talked to anyone outside of the circle about things inside the circle for a long time. She didn't even touch it with Jude, really. She did smile at his sweet confidence about Destiny. It was a bummer for her, because he was super cute, but oh, well.] I have complete faith in you, kid. [She smiled as he winked.
The girl, for the record, would also totally take a trophy to her brains. At least she'd have some kind of proof, right?] The boy does too, if he can admit it. [See how generous she was? MJ futzed with glasses in the sink, looking up as Patrick described his sister. She gave him an obvious look-over.] I don't know. You did say stratovolcano. [A laugh.] It's not so bad to miss the nerd caboose. My sister's super sweet and, like, docile? A ballet dancer. [She didn't even need to say what she was. That description was enough of a comparison, she knew. She passed the rag and watched the boy work briefly, before she joined in. She looked over at him once she had done a couple glasses.] I was. I mostly talked to some guy who thought I was some killer sex bomb or something, and he was paranoid and condescending. What about you?
