Re: The Cat: Patrick G/MJ W
Snake shoulders sound supremely terrifying. I guess there would be less space for snakes on shoulders, and they could probably swivel less, so it might be better, dude, all things considered. But still terrifying. I veto snake shoulders. [He spread the two fingers he was peering through wider apart.] You could pull off a turtleneck, my girl. Consider it, won't you? For the sake of dudes like me. [Dudes who, in Patrick's estimation, owned not one iota of science or smarts. Hello, he was the dumb one in the family. It was a badge of non-honor, and dude couldn't shake it. It was the legacy Webster had left behind, and legacies were not easily forgotten.
He made mental note of the names of the other residents of the house down the block. It felt mildly stalker, but he hadn't arranged this, so it had to be acceptable behavior.] I don't know this Matt dude, but I've seen your girl Holly on the forums. She's got a mouth on those fingers. [He grinned at her.] Go ahead. Try to picture that. The only person missing is that Sunshine girl, and you'd have a full house. [He really should check on that chick, but girl here asked about Destiny's earrings, and Patrick ducked his head like a dude who could not tell a lie.] Her earrings are stellar.
[Sports! Saved by the ball... hah!] Basketball, football, track. Mostly football. Wide Receiver. [He raised his hands in surrender when she took the joke to the 'just call me Dick,' place, because girl was obviously a champ, and dude knew when he was out of his league.] Man, I'm not quick enough for wit. I'm your guy when it comes to locating obsidian, but a wit I am not. [His expression went even more earnest, if possible, when he talked about Con.] She's the best, dude. You should say hi sometime. She's epic with people. [She talked about her family, and Patrick listened with genuine, open interest.] Dude, the perfume thing is harsh, but... [He pushed away from the stool he'd been leaning against.] Want help cleaning up? Put me to work. And, chill, I've never had a nightmare in this town. It's not a weekly occurrence. I swear on my badge. [Which wasn't visible, but which did exist.]
