Re: [misha & jude: the capital]
[Misha, he really did want to hear Jude's explanation. Right now, he saw the entire situation with Jude and Oliver from Oliver's side. And, real likely that Misha just wasn't the type of folk that could give up on another soul, but he understood humanity wasn't like him. He had trouble with that, but he did understand it some. So, he listened, and he tried to understand. In this, Jude knew a whole lot more than he did.] Oh. I reckon I understand. [He reckoned he did. He didn't think it sounded real nice, but everything 'bout folks wasn't nice.] I reckon I understand. [Really, he still didn't comprehend, but the statement was 'nough to make him realize he really didn't seem to understand human loving any at all. He didn't like that, so he just went on listening to the player, and he was real glad when Jude circled 'round back to the music.]
You can get one for wherever you're staying now, a piano. [He looked on back at his fiddle's bag.] I reckon a fiddle's a whole lot easier to carry.
[Misha, he didn't stand, and he found himself floundering 'bout where to take the conversation, on account of that feeling in the pit of his belly, the one that insisted folks see the good there was to see.
Quiet some, and after a sigh that said he knew this wasn't a good thing to go talking 'bout.] I think the problem is Oliver didn't see any eroding. I guess eroding can happen on one side, but that seems real sad to me. You're a good person, and Oliver's still learning, and it seems a shame you ain't there to help him. I know you reckon he should be like you, be where you are emotionally, but he ain't. Oliver, he's like a child in a whole lot of many ways. When human children are real young, they're selfish, and they cling, and they manipulate, and it ain't really deliberate cruelty. It's just they ain't figured selfless yet. We had a whole lot of people in the asylum when I was young, after my daddy was took, and some of the adults acted just like the children. They never did grow emotionally past that point, and that wasn't their fault any. But, Oliver, he has it in him to learn, if you have it in you to teach. I think maybe it's like them old folks in homes, and they get to be too much of a burden on their kin. I reckon that's eroding, or could be that's a crack, but it's still real sad, ain't it?
[Misha, he tipped his head up from where he'd had his chin propped on the back of the chair. It wasn't accusing any, and it was just words unraveling, and he was near sure it was going to go as bad as every single thing he tried to help with recent.] I'm not real good at this. I'm a whole lot better at that piano. [And, when the player stood, Misha excused himself and went on up to claim the piano bench, and he played.]
