Re: [Reaction]
[If he manages to get the chronometer to cooperate and show him different time as opposed to that unearthly elven layer, it will reveal a rather normal looking Common Raven (maybe slightly larger than normal, but not overly so). It starts at the top step, winging down from the sky with a small bit of stick in its mouth. It swoops in carefully and lands for just a moment, placing the stick and then hopping back to seemingly get a better view. Apparently satisfied, the bird takes off again.
It's only a matter of a moment before it returns, repeating the process with a piece of bark and the second step. The third, fourth, and fifth steps get pebbles. If Patrick watches long enough, the bird continues on until there is a perfectly centered bit of something on each step. Once the very bottom step receives its decoration, the raven beats its wings to take to the sky again, perching on the railing around the lookout and cocking its head from side to side, observing its work. Another few minutes are spent changing some of the items around - this goes on that step, that goes on this step - before it finally takes off again and doesn't return.]
