Re: jude c/claire j
It does, but being in a book does not make it entirely incorrect. Much like the stories of vampires. A majority of it is fabrication, but equally as much of it is based in fact. Take garlic for example. Garlic in nearly every instance will not repel a vampire, however fresh garlic is a quintessential ingredient in the ritual to bar them from entry to a specific area. Over the centuries the stories get changed due to cultures or religion.
This nightmare is not of this realm, and destroying it may require going elsewhere to defeat it. Time can work differently in these other places. So while I may not be dead, I will not be here and may not be able to return for some time. Hopefully it does not come to that. I recognize that this all sounds fantastical, and I expect that you may think I need to spend time in the Quiet Home because of it, but this is what I have been trained to do since I was born. It is much easier and generally less concerning to say I need to take care of an issue and that I need to quit my job than to explain the details.
