Re: 418: Cat & Sasha
[Cat could have argued all she wanted, but she wasn't on this side of the playing field. Sasha understood what had happened to Cat, that she was still her sister there on the inside, but that didn't mean that the outside was far too young to be looked at as an adult. Not that it stopped Sasha from talking to Cat like one.]
You're right. [Even about her, and not just Damian's feral tendencies.] He's just never been outright mean to me before. Frustrating, sure. But that shit was on a different level. I thought he was just being difficult about us not being friends. I was wrong. [As per usual. But she didn't really want to talk about it. Talking about it would make her cry again, and she was so done being hurt by everyone she knew. It was bad when she thought the clown had treated her better, which was why she was holed up at the abandoned amusement park. Everyone else was showing up, why wouldn't he? And where would he set up camp? The funhouse. Oh, it was absolute fantasy, to be certain, but it was so much more comforting to live in the world of 'what if' than the reality of 'what is'. At least when he had wanted her gone, he'd blatantly shove her off a roof or something. Everyone in Repose was far more passive about their hatred, hidden daggers behind fake smiles.
Well, if Cat was good, Sasha was good. For the time being. She'd press a bit more about scientists later, since Cat brought up Abe. Friend. It wasn't Cat's intention, of course, but it only skewered the fact that the word was quite singular at this time. Abe was the only friend she had right now, and she was doing everything she could to not mess that up. Sasha led the way out the door, locking it behind them, and took the stairs down instead of the death-trap elevator, yapping idly along the way.] Abe's so smart. And he's really funny. [Here she hopped onto the railing and slid down the first flight of stairs, landing with ease on both feet.] And probably half out of his mind for wanting to be involved with the amulet. We went out to The Baths and explored a cave I went to when I was buying Toad Hall. Pretty sure it's some kinda ritual thing that needs to be done. [Sasha shrugged and grinned up at Cat, any crying from before wiped away thanks to the obvious infatuation she felt for him. Which just meant that she knew he was going to wind up leaving.] But if anyone can figure it out, Abe can.
