Re: May's Cottage: May & Rory
[Rory took a mug from the shelf without any apparent decision making process applied to the selection of what was (hopefully) homemade pottery. Fuck all knows he hoped nobody would actually pay for the things, not even a woman of the woods. Rory really wasn't one to ponder, and whether it was the nature of the dog or just the nature of this man, Rory was all action and no foresight. This had brought him a bit of problems in the past, and undoubtedly would again in the future. But not today, no trouble ever came from a cuppa and some bruising attempt at jaw flapping. The soft and quiet woman at the table, May he'd grown to know her as, she likely deserved some kind of conversation from her house guest. After all, she hadn't given him the boot. Not just yet.
He came closer when she gestured with the tea pot. Normally, he wouldn't have taken any liberties with crowding her, but the invitation hung soft and welcoming as a wind chime in still air between them. He held the mug out to her so that she might fill it with whatever concoction she'd brewed up. He'd always been more of a coffee guy, really. A drunk like him often required something sharp and bitter to jar him out of last night's mistakes. Even when he'd had to bunker down back in Ireland, it'd been all about the coffee for him. Of course, the morning brew had been more like Jameson whiskey with a splash of instant coffee powder stirred in for caffeine's blessing, but still. It wasn't really until now, here at May's, that he'd taken a polite interest in tea blends. He was a senseless man when it came to tea, fucking without a clue really. He could pluck out basic categories in the flavoring, be it herbal or floral, but he could decipher any specifics. Shit, with enough sugar it was all the same anyway.
She poured, and Rory began dumping in some sugar that he'd gathered from the cabinets during his search.] Oh yeah? [He asked of her certainty over the trees safety.] You know something I don't? There some sort of vengeful gnome out there keeping tabs? [He really wouldn't be surprised.]
