Re: Ice cream: Cat & Reece
"It means enthusiasm, and it's a very nice name, thank you." Reece said this with complete and utter confidence and dismissiveness toward Cat's criticism. As for the Catalone, he knew that part. He'd just never connected the whole 'no one would name their kid Cat Catalone' part. "'Little lion.'" Okay, he laughed, but it was kind of endearing, even from someone who was, by all accounts, a terrible father. "I bet you could've. Held a crime family. I mean, you were set up to fail there, you know." And if you thought guilt clashed, you should've seen how heinous martyrdom looked. It did not suit his warm undertones.
The surprised, thwarted expression on the girl's face after Reece just came clean was... new. And pretty much told him, regardless of what she said, that it was weird. He blushed to his ears, but kept his eyes down. "You are too, you know," he told her. He smiled at the milk pitcher as he steamed. "You're quite the romantic, aren't you?"
Confusion slid over bratty smugness, and the boy tried to think of why they'd need someone on the computer for world saving. I mean, if they had people like Cat involved, why would they need him? But, oh, okay, he wouldn't be like, on the frontlines or whatever. "Do you think they'd go for it, after they saw I worked at Tethys for so long?" Shots number three and four were pulled.
