Re: Ice cream: Cat & Reece
The walk hadn't rankled Reece. Maybe it should've. Maybe it was stupid to be afraid of the dark, but only when he was in an enclosed space, but that's how it was. Outside, hey, if someone or something did come after him, at least he had a lot of places to go. Not like it was conscious, because he definitely hadn't thought it through. The walk over was fine, and he was fine. Totally fine.—He didn't think anything of the affection. His parents hadn't been especially touchy-feely, but he wasn't from PTSD, New Jersey. He got a little wound about his clothes and his hair, but otherwise, Reece wasn't stingy about personal space.
Not that this was something he'd do with anyone. He wasn't about to, say, call up Matt and lean against him. But, with Cat, it didn't even cross his mind as anything worth crossing a mind. He laughed at the comment about money and shrugged, like, yeah, okay, you have a point. "It's what kids do when their parents are out, Cat," he explained, knowing she probably hadn't seen every '80s and '90s teen movie there was. Allow him, Suburbia Expert Reece Eos, to break it down.—To be honest, he didn't really care about the answer to Bruce's potential conundrum, so he just made a pfft sound as Cat shrugged. Matt, now Matt he could be interested in. "What do you remember? That you didn't before?"
Reece wasn't expecting to lose his perch so soon, and when the girl next to him stood, he tipped a little, until he caught himself with the clink! of metal palm to cement. "Are you sure you don't want to put pants on?" He asked this mostly to tease Cat, his mismatched gaze moving down to socks.
