Re: [Meat and Greet: Atticus and PJ]
[She laughed.] When I was in high school, when my mom got sick, and there wasn't a lot of hope left that she'd get well again. She used to get sad about not getting to see me grow up. I'd try and lighten the mood and tell her not to worry because I was just going to grow into an old witch who lives in a lean-to down in the ravine and only come into town to buy supplies and randomly shout fake fortunes of doom at people passing by. We'd just laugh. Who knew it was self-fulfilling prophecy.
[Well, she was glad he decided to come back. She didn't think she was bringing much to the table as far as roots and people went. So she promised herself to try and do better at being a useful person for Atticus to have around.] The people you left here thank you, because we're pretty fond of you.
[She mulled over his question and eventually shook her head.]
Not until I'm sure I won't stay. [She wanted to end that pack. There were people there she cared about, it would be impossible not to have found them while she'd been there. She wanted to free them too. She didn't want them to languish there, there were good people there who deserved better. Of course she hadn't been allowed to get too close to anyone for too long, she had no idea why, but PJ had a big heart, and she took people into it quickly.]
