Re: Capital: Holly + Gwen
Smug was easy to pull off without a nose or mouth. It was all in the hands, and Gwen had practiced in front of a mirror. She'd totally considered recording herself (because she thought that might yield better results), but she'd ultimately been concerned that the recording might fall into the wrong hands. It could totally lead to superhero unmasking and fallout, and she wasn't interested in that eventuality. She'd been all over the newspapers in on the East coast recently (because it wasn't every day that a dead girl was found across the country and alive), and it would be super awful if she was unmasked as that not-dead-girl from New York.
"I laugh in the face of antiquated fashion rules," she informed Miss Criticism (and she had to bite her tongue not to explain where the 'no white after Labor Day rule' originated). And, hello! There was a lot of pink! Which our Spider went on to indicate in a series of gestures and pointed fingers at the color.
After she put the girl down on that rooftop (carefully, thank you!) she made the universal gesture of face-meet-palm. Because of course she wasn't from here! She wouldn't need directions otherwise. Direction of travel now obtained, she scooped the girl up, and she swung them silkily to the easternmost of the three buildings the girl indicated. "Here?" she asked, ready to swing if there was further to go. Oh, and she was totally going to memorize street maps once she was home.
