Re: Capital: Holly + Gwen
Our Spider shook her head sadly at her new sidekick's lack of know-how. "Not all heroes are shadows." Gwen knew all about Jason's crimefighting family. She'd seen the Shadow in action, and he was totally decked out in head-to-toe black. But where she came from, heroes wore primary colors and bright shades. And she was totally working the white. "Someone confident picks white," she countered, hands-on-her-hips smug. She had no interest in blending! She wanted the bad guys to see her coming! If she swung her webs right, they'd just see her swinging overhead and Vroom! they'd be gone, rethinking their nefarious action with minimal output from her.
There was no tossing of cookies here! She was back with no vomit spilled, and she groaned at the comment about white staining. "The horse is dead. Quit beating it!" she advised her ungrateful not-damsel-sidekick. As for a phone, she pretended to tug out non-existent pockets. Okay, so she could've hidden one in her top if she super-duper wanted to, but she was worried about dropping it. One thing at a time, impatient girl! And GPS couldn't keep up with webs anyway.
She spit out the address to a nest near the Red Light District, and she waited for her new little companion to tell her which way. Or, wait, no! She webbed the building across the way, and, okay, she was maybe showing off now, but she scooped the girl up by the waist and she swung them both to that adjacent roof. "Which way from here?" See? This was better than GPS! It was like having a tour guide (and, okay, she'd plan better next time).
