Re: Capital: Holly + Gwen
Gwen had only known one hero, and he was totally about the little people on the bottom. Despite a desire not to emulate a certain spider (™!), she was totally helpless not to, because that was the person she had intimate knowledge of. Okay, Jason was totally a hero too, but he was an angry one that killed people in order to make a difference, and Gwen totally wasn't about that. She thought of red and blue and webs, and she thought of humor, and she thought of great powers and great responsibility. Those were all totally borrowed concepts (or inherited, depending on how you looked at it), but it was definitely her approach to this whole suit thing. Flash had influence too, even though he completely considered himself not heroic. But, Gwen totally saw a hero when she looked at her boyfriend, and here she was, a product of all those influences.
Whatever the boy had done, he totally didn't deserve to be crowbarred by three bigger guys, and that was her only thought process as she webbed after him. The guys chasing him were gaining, and she webbed a trashcan here, a trashcan there, making gunk and metal roll in their way (which the guy that slammed into the girl at the car was probably totally oblivious about, but she wasn't in it for the glory).
Okay, also, that collision was not intended (oops!), and Gwen jumped down and landed in a crouch on the roof of the car the girl had been leaning into a moment earlier. Which, okay, totally made the car drive off, and which required another web, another jump, and a land on a dumpster that was still standing strong. "You both have to move!" Her voice was muffled behind the white, but she'd designed it so it was a little bit obstructing while still being super understandable. Just, no one would be able to pick her out of a voice lineup! "The guys coming are really not happy, and they won't care that you're peons."
The barreling guy seemed inclined to listen, and Gwen sent a web flying at the girl's hand. "A helping web." She tugged on the web, obviously wanting to help the girl up (a helping web, get it?), and the big guys were close enough that our intrepid hero cursed behind her white. She sent another web at their feet, but she only managed to trip one of them up. "Come on, come on, do you need any invitation?" Okay, no this was getting too close, and Gwen sent a webline up to the edge of the nearby brownstone, and she swung by our little damsel and tried to scoop her up.
