Re: Webster's Vinyl: Harper L & Ceil L
[Daniel woke up out of one of his strange, bloodstained dreams, the ones that may have been half-memory, to stare at the low ceiling and wait for the reassuring closeness to thicken in his consciousness. He was overreacting to the false harbor of his new apartment and he knew it, already aware that the growing hunger was making him foolish and more prone to risk, though it didn't help him when he thought about going out under the wide sky. He heard multiple heartbeats downstairs before he even realized he was awake, and he made himself get up in the determination he would go out to find someone to eat before morning.
He appeared at the bottom of the stairs. He didn't look anywhere near as well-groomed as he had when he first arrived, sleep-wrinkled and four days pale. He blinked when he saw Harper, approaching to lay the library book in his hand on the counter next to the computer.] You're back.
