Webster's Vinyl: Harper L & Ceil L
[It was the longest they'd been apart in their lives, this month. Ceil would agree that it felt like the fairytale passing of ages, an increment of time created to put children to sleep, and she was still no better at sleeping alone in the office downstairs. She'd taken to coming up near the door Daniel kept locked at night and sitting there, heat curling out irregular from the crack between floor and jamb. It was extremely cold, up there, with the music store opening up at the foot of the stairs, but she'd cocoon herself and she'd feel better for being near someone. After all, she was used to Mum's trailer, and after that, seedy motel rooms and their gross, stained ilk.—She didn't really think anything of it, except that she needed to be away from the door before Daniel woke up (presumably, he didn't really leave). But, it had made the month feel long. Long and cold.
In a heathered sweater than went past her ass and shiny, X-mas 🎀 leggings, she at least looked a little warmer. Her pinkish-blonde hair was pulled up carelessly, bopping as she did in nodding gravity. Her shoes were actually silppers and they let her slide across the shop when a particularly fun jam came on. She didn't feel deserted and maybe that showed. The world wasn't a cloud of candyfloss for Ceil, but it came rosy-hued, dependent on herself, her sister, and their cashflow. As it was, she had just gotten Mr. Jerk-Off to paypal her a good $1k, so she was in a good mood.—She wasn't actually expecting her sister. Christmas music was playing, covers of covers of covers of songs so well-known they were almost in your blood, and though there was no snow blanketing the ground outside, it felt wintry to the girl. Maybe because of the layers or the bows or the music or even the usual lights she was planning on stringing snowflakes from.
Either way, she was enjoying it, and she bounced behind the counter at the sound of the door and its bell, popping her head up in peony spray, before she squealed, recognition crushing yellow eyes in a grin.] Hi! [She bounded over from the counter, to throw her arms around her sister.—After a moment, she pulled back to take her sister in.] How was it??
